King Ken

Our nationel chairman councillor Ken Cleary. I only have one comment. Where did that crown come from?!

Ride 'em cowgirls!

Two of our younger clerk colleagues enjoying the play equipment on display at the conference. Who said only boys like toys.

A very pleased Ronnie

Ronnie from Blachere is very chuffed after winning the auction for this bottle of vodka. He collapsed half an hour later. Not really, the bottle is a gift for a Latvian business associate who likes vodka.

A sensitive development!

Al taking a pic of the modern developments in the city centre which have been sympathetic to the church in the middle of the pic. Al was pleased with that.

Thumbs up

The smallest Wimpy in the country gets a thumbs up from me and Al. Hasten to say we didn't try the bender in a bun.

Pool anyone?

As the pool at the hotel was out of action we headed out for a walk and a drink while the AGM was on. This is the Wimpy pub with a wonky pool table. Alan is on the left, on the right is the bandit that beat me 4-0!

Smallest Wimpy in the world?

Fantastic, a tiny Wimpy in one of Alan's old haunts from university.

Lunch in the Treasury

No not the one where Gordon Brown can be found, the refurbished church near the hotel. Five cokes, a bottle of wine and a mojito please barmaid. Nice.

Plymouth Hoe

The view of the Plymouth Hoe from the top floor restaurant of the Holiday Inn Hotel.

Abba tribute band

The name is Jones, Alan Jones

If it all goes pear-shaped for Daniel Craig, Al is ready to step in.

Grubs up!

The friday night dinner

Black tie was the dress code and our table scrubbed up very well.

Toasting victory.....

.....as I managed to get into town to buy shoes and back in fifteen minutes. Result! Needed new dress shoes to year with my dinner suit. Four cokes, a bottle of wine and long island iced tea please barmaid. Nice.

Twenty Four Seven

Alan taking a media enquiry on the forthcoming local governmment white paper. The time is 10.30pm. Dedication right there.

Hello Tim, hello Trevor

The former clerk to Arundel Town Council and current County Officer to the Sussex and Surrey CALCs, and the clerk to Hurstpierpoint Sayers Common Parish Council, deep in conversation about the merits of handwritten minutes. Sussex boys eh!

The Lanyard pub

Jamie and Laurie discuss what they are hoping for from this years conference.

Cheers to a job well done

Marianne, Tim and Alan in the Ha Ha Bar, toasting my new shoes bought in five minutes flat in M&S to wear with my dinner suit tonight. Job well done. Oh and four cokes, a bottle of wine and a long island iced tea please barman.

Shot of the day?

This is where my ball landed after a hooked tee shot. And Garry pointing at it!

More cheese Grommit

The face that Garry made after trying some roquefort!

Cheers

A well deserved drink after golf at the SLCC Conference.

I like driving in my car

Liam taking his wheels for a quick spin.

Get blogging on Tuesday blog fans!!

Baby snatching!

Our efforts to steal baby Liam weren't very successful. Apparently he didn't fancy a new life in London as a chimney sweep!

This is the life

The view from JB's sunlounger on holiday in Dominican Republic. Tried posting this a week and a half ago and it didn't work. Sorry JB and sorry blog fans.

Ghost town

Jude playing pool in the quietest Meynell Arms I've ever seen on a Saturday night. I blame Paul Ellis for being on an all-dayer with his brother and having to look after him. We older brothers have such a tough job! And I blame Spud for being barred. Bloody Spud-dives and being rude to Hazel the Landlady!!

JB again

This time with a target on her chest! Very odd. It is actually a nice necklace. Sorry JB.

JB playing pool

After dinner a few drinks in the Meynell Arms in Ashley was called for. JB up to her old tricks again hustling. Nice tan from Dominican Republic though. Good work.

Darcy again

England U-18 (month) Playstation Champion

Darcy playing Playstation

Dan on the Playstation

Playstation club

We popped round Claire and Rich's house this afternoon to see them all. This is Rich and Dan playing Spiderman on Playstation 2.

Now what do I fancy for dessert?

Jude's mum holding the dessert menu at their house after dinner. Good use of the chalk board normally used for messages! Cheese and biscuits sounds nice I reckon.

Jude and Liam

I should've been a builder!

Chips and drinks

En route to the Ruralnet Conference at Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest. The train journey made more pleasant by a snack and a beverage, a la the streets.
